The requirement of primer for UV vacuum plating coatings requires that primer must have good adhesion to plastic substrates and vacuum coated metal layers, that is to say, coatings should not only adhere well to weak polar plastic substrates, but also have good adhesion to polar metals, which is more than the requirement of pure plastic coatings. According to the performance requirements of UV vacuum coating primer, the formulation of primer should fully consider flexibility, leveling, adhesion and molecular weight when choosing oligomers. Therefore, considering these needs, polyurethane acrylic resins with two or three functions are generally chosen as the main resins, such as 615, which is popular in the market. 8 and UA202. Considering the cost and performance factors, epoxy resin or polyester are usually selected to be used together. The function and requirement of topcoat is that UV vacuum electroplating topcoat is coated on vacuum coated metal, which plays a protective role and a certain decorative role in the coating. Therefore, topcoat requires good adhesion to the metal coating, and has enough performance to resist external friction, scratch, scratch and other external forces, and to provide a certain degree of resistance and barrier. In addition, most topcoats or mid-coatings need color modification, and the wettability requirements of pigments and fillers in the whole paint system are very high.
The formulation design of the top coat is different from that of the primer. In order to ensure the mechanical properties of the coatings, the resin with higher functionality is usually used to match the top coat. In addition, taking full account of the additivity, some ultra-high functionality resins are allowed to be added to improve the wear resistance. In addition, in order to ensure the addition of the pigments in the system, some super-high functionality resins are allowed to be added.
